Welcome to Jaffajaf Designs Remember your mum sewing together an outfit for your cabbage patch doll out of a bit of scrap fabric? Why do so many toys now days seem so mass produced and over marketed? When I was little my Nanna made me some hand-puppets to play with. They were the same fabric as my Pop's pajamas! I loved that. They were totally unique and they were mine. That's why I started making my own softies - for my cousins and my friends children. So that they could have a toy that was completely unique to them and didn't come with a movie tie-in and a matching lunchbox.
I continually collect pre-loved fabrics. From vintage prints to fabric off cuts, old clothes to bed sheets and table cloths. I keep all my scraps (sorted into colour for easy access) so that I can always use every last square of fabric. Some of my designs require new fabrics (such as felts) and in those cases I look for Australian-made, locally produced textiles.
Take some time to look through my softies and homewares. As I've said they are all individual (I try to do something different with every toy I make) and I'm always adding new ideas. I hope that my creations remind you of your childhood or let your children's imagination run wild. If you are looking for something in particular, just ask, we will see what we can do for you.
